HELOOOOOO POPPETS!

oh my, why hasnt it been the longest time...?!
how i HAVE missed you!
but , i am back in melbourne...
and i have had the quite the busy couple of weeks, so now i have sat down with a cup of mandarin hinted green tea and my new audial obsession The 6's & 7's ... (i highly recommend both!) to write to you... i hope you have fingers wrapped around a cup of popcorn as this is going to be quite the slideshow...

of course, the number 1 item on the to do list was catch up with my gentleman friend, winston...
so i to celebrate our first day of spring visiting, i baked a devils chocolate cake, and as my heart was bursting with rainbows of excitement, there was no question in my mind - frosting drenched with 100's & 1000's were a must...
and a fresh pot of tea...
delightful.
and, well, between us, i may have sneaked a second slice... ;)

on my way home, i discovered that the most amazingly abundant cherry tree...
the blossom was incredible...
marie - we still have to take you a new profile pic in front of it before it snows...

the next morning marie and a decided to explore our breakfast options, and decided to dine at pope joan on lygon street in east brunswick - much to my amusement they played the beatles the whole time - and they even played my lady's song...
and FINALLY! i got to try Green eggs...
to my slight dissapointment, they were in fact still , well egg-yellow inside...
but oh my, still a tasty breakfast made with heart...
and also made with an indulgent bananabread and raspberry cream breakfasty-dessert...

i have been enjoying my adventures through edinburgh gardens of late...
beautiful at anytime of the year, but i love it when it is still a bit moody -broody...

one day on a walk with winston along merri creek, who should we bump into but archie and maxwell, just after their trip back from the usa...

yesterday, i helped trudy (by helping, i mean basically sat around talking nonsense and taking photos) set up for her exhibition this weekend...
loved her work...
shame i will not be in town for the exhibition - lucky i got a preview and met some of her delightful uni chums...

and after that, we feasted in my new favourite place, MANKOUSHE!
if you are after a tasty treat that is not only fresh, delicious; but also super affordable then look no further!

and then today we visited with marie again!
spoilt for company...
we wandered around her two week neighborhood yesterday and had a cheeky wine at prudence
then today went for another edin walk... then decided to wander down the road to the gorman sale...
oh it made me full of sorrow when i realised that we were getting to the end if the camelia season as i came across a carpet of rotting petals..but still rather pretty i must say...i tried my best to chamaele-dog myself... but that is okay as the magnolias are going nutts...

and on our travels down the road marie's eyes were prospecting for bottles of BUTTER, and we accidently found ourself in bathroom bliss - klein's perfumery...
the look of concern on my face comes from being overwhelmed by choice at all the fragrances and not enough time to sniff sniff them all and which to choose lions tigers and bears oh my !

more fun to be had...
i hope you are all well,

lots o love, lola xx

SUNNY SUN SUNDAE

oh! what a delightful melbourne day to wake up to! sun shining, blue skies, birds chirping, coffee brewing...eek! still pretty damn cold.
but what this morning invited was a long walk around the neighborhood post haste...and what a glorious vitamin-D recharging day it turned out to be...
so we went and of course picked up winston and made a beeline to julio's for a takeaway coffee ...my second for the day, so i made it an indulgent mocha - much to my delight included cinnamon! (at least, i hope that was what it was...)

from there it was a lovely wander to pick up briony, we invited next door cat called affectionately fat ginge; but alas he didnt desire to hang, and the walk continued..

after window shopping bentwood chairs and enviable furniture... and a good 2 hours later, we ended back at winstons house to say hi to matt who was working away on his studio construction - most impressed! that reminds me, i need to start up yoga again...

winston was spending the afternoon gardening

and so with a kiss we were on our way....

but the fun didnt stop there!
off to bincas house for a visit and most impressed by the rainbow delights that were in store! my favourite...rainbow whirly-whirlies...

and a brilliant velvet woven italian floor covering...

floral fantastic!

then it was off to min lokal for a late breakfast...
but it looked so delicious i forgot to take a photo of it.

FROM RUSSIA WITH LUV

so it seems that everyone at the moment is going bananas for the former sssr...
my friend tim is there with his nanna, my grandparentals are about to make a journey there for a holiday, and my friend anna is celebrating her 30th birthday with an eastern block themed discotheque...
so i was out and found the first piece of my ensemble, a faux-fur hat.
i loves it.
it is like i am re-united with my long lost little princess sister...

AFRAID OF THE DENTIST

hello peeps!

well i am feeling a little better now i have ticked another item off my to do list...
head to the dreaded vet for my booster shots!
as you can see, i do not rejoice in such an occasion...

and the empty enclosure behind me normally houses kitties in need of adoption, but alas there were none there today so no-one to chat to while waiting nervously in the waiting room! (i highly recommend heading to your local vet and adopting a kitty post haste)
the trash mags were not at all enticing, so i just fretted for a while, but , in the end it was not an unpleasant experience. There was lovely vet staff and many a treat to be spoiled with... turns out i need to start brushing my teeth though... not surte how i feel about that.
to reward myself i went across the road to the dog park - but again, no love!
just mud...

honestly!
but one quick txt, and i was at the bigger and better dog park by the merri creek with my best friend...meet winston!
it was cold, but as always a pleasure to hang out for a while...

you will be seeing more of winston soon...
we spend an awful lot of time together when i am in town...but it never seems like quite enough.

after a cup of coffee and some fetta on rye, it is time to settle into a blanket , listen to some tunes [still obsessed with the nationals new album] and have a snooze...
ps....look at this amazing house i was shown today ... there was a grey puppy looking out the window at me, but i think he was camera shy...

MIXED LOLLY BAG

well, it has been a busy past couple of days , and although the weather has been a bit dreary that didnt stop me from pulling on a knit and stepping out to run some errands.
i agreed to let penny tie me up outside a cafe while she ordered a coffee, in return for a trip to our local pooch park, just for a quick visit, as it was cold...

but alas! others had more sense, and the place was deserted... so i meandered around the streets a bit , and decided now was as good a time as any to continue the walk up to the post office.
on my way i came across a crimson-camelia-explosion in someone's front yard - it took my breath away, and i marvelled at the red carpet delight , and then of course, in true red carpet fashion, posed.... (felt a bit under-dressed for such an occasion i must say..)

so as a good citizen i am looking forward to placing my vote next month- but as i am new to victoria; and seem to always get entangled with some voting electoral confusion; and that the internet didnt seem to want to be my friend that day; i thought to myself, what would nanna do? to the post office post haste! for an old fashioned form, that you fill out with pen. much to my disappointment, i came across this unfortunate notice...

so when i feeling blue, there are a few things i do...

one: head straight to a florist! which is what i did...
my mission: orange roses for my room....
check √

but oh melbourne weather, you fickle mistress!
when almost home - someone was throwing those kittehs out of the sky by the bucket, so i had to take refuge outside a delicious baked delights and coffee shop, that just as luck would have it is closed on tuesdays...

but the flower mission as always , was worth it when i got home... thinking of tango lessons in the spring...
